City: Comfortable downtown business hotels are the clean and convenient
standard for our tours when we are in the city.
Hot spring towns and villages: Authentic Japanese traditional inns,
either ryokan or minshuku style abound in the small centres.
Mountain lodges: When in the hills we stay in one of the mountain huts,
which provide meals, a shared sleeping space and basic facilities. A
great chance to meet the Japanese hikers!
Please understand that single rooms are only available in the city hotels,
and that they do incur a supplementary payment that is specified when
you book. All other accommodation is usually on a shared basis, either
in a communal space in the mountains, or with singles sharing a room
with another same sex member of our group in the inns. Ensuite facilities
are only the norm in the city hotels.
Changes to the itinerary are often made to incorporate improvements
in the tour and the experience of the clients. The aim is always to
make sure that everyone has a good time. Client safety and natural events
always take priority in the tour leaders’ decision making.
